So my post today comes from the Daily Meme- Friday Five Edition!
1. What’s your favorite thing about the people that you work with?
My co-workers are all great to work with and we have lots of fun with each other. They really make the 12-hour shift go by a lot faster. We sometimes (often) get in trouble by the big boss for being too loud, but what can we do? Some of the doctors also complain about us being “unprofessional” but we have improved much. You cannot be all serious in a world of sick and depressed people. We have to have a way of keeping ourselves sane. It is so hard to explain what we nurses do. People just wouldn’t understand and we have each other to understand our line of work. I think that as long as we get our work done in a timely manner, it’s okay to have some time to talk amongst each other. At the rate things are going from our last staff meeting, we are going to have a police squad monitoring our every move up on our floor. Yikes!
2. What’s your favorite thing about Friday?
I can’t say that there is anything special about Friday. I work every other weekend and I don’t work Monday-Friday. I’m off a good portion of what people would call a normal work week, so Friday is just another day for me. Thank goodness I don’t do 9-5’s Monday to Friday. I think I’d hate it! I love that I can spend time with the kids and my family throughout the whole week and not just on weekends.
3. What’s your favorite thing about the year coming to an end?
Well everything that ends means that there is a new beginning- 2009! I don’t even know what 2009 will bring. The end of 2008 just brought me new life and a new beginning, so it’s still all new to me. My one resolution for the coming year, however, is to spend more quality one on one time with the hubby! We get drowned in so many things that sometimes it’s hard to think about each other, but every couple needs those moments- alone! Dex and I have really openly discussed not taking each other for granted and cherishing every moment! Too many people we know fall through the cracks, and we don’t want that to happen to us!
