It Has Begun…

I’m talking about summer. It hasn’t felt like summer because it has been so gloomy and rainy since we got back from the Philippines, but the sun peeks out most of the time and that is good enough for me. Tomorrow is the beginning of one of my favorite festivals in Illinois. It marks the start of The Taste- simply put! Dex and I have gone every year and even with both of our kids last year. I love how crowded it is and how you can lay out your blanket and have corn on the cob and just sit there. It de-stresses me. It has sort of become our tradition and better yet, a family one, since we haven’t missed one yet. I have always been one to enjoy crowded places, weirdly enough! We’ll see what the weather has in store for us.

I can’t believe that it is already July. There is so much that I want to do this summer (and even the rest of the year)  and it feels like there is never enough time to make them happen. I gotta start planning and placing them stickies in my calendar. Great America. Wisconsin Dells. Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier. Mall of America (again). Downtown Chicago Day. Museum of Science and Industry. Planetarium. Shedd Aquarium. Butterfly Park. Linclon Park Zoo. Niagara Falls. State Fair … and oh so much more. Believe it or not, planning some of these simple things can be tricky. It requires the hubby and I to coordinate our schedules and weekends off. It may seem very simple, but it’s very much a calculated task.

Anyway, today looks like a beautiful day out and I am here at home with the two kiddies. I don’t seem to have much guts to go out with the girls without my husband. I feel like I’m handicapped without him, but in due time, Janelle will be old enough and I can finally handle them both outside of the house-BY MYSELF! I am going to shower the little munchkins, get them to nap and see if I have enough will power to enjoy this beautiful weather!

And because of my good mood this lovely day, I changed my profile. It has been long overdue, but the change is nice. It’s much brighter, ain’t it?
