Women have many different purses that come in many different sizes for all sorts of occasions. I think I sometimes surprise myself because I don’t have a massive collection of purses. I have 3 good bags, of which I really only use ONE on a regular basis. Then I have 3 other “throw around” bags that is almost a basic need for mom’s for days that will be filled with activity. I don’t have any evening bags and tend to borrow from my mom at the very last minute prior to a party. So despite not having many purses to choose from, I do change purses a lot and these are the things that will always be shuffled from purse to purse without question. These are my basic needs for everyday. I think people are sometimes curious of what is in people’s purses for the very fact that it is private territory. You don’t go opening someone’s bag wondering what’s in there. Well if there is ever a question of what is inside this woman’s purse- here it is!
If this isn’t basic, I don’t know what it is. My WALLET is pretty organized because I don’t keep scraps of paper in it. It actually just holds my cards and that is about it. If you ever decide to try and rob me folks- I NEVER have cash with me. Try the next person buddy!
Next are those BABY WIPES. Yes. That white box is my wipes holder. I have actually narrowed it down to that size over the years. I do NOT miss the years of having to lug around the heavy packs at all.
Having a BLUE PEN is mandatory for me. This is my standard writing gear. For some odd reason, I don’t like to write in black ink. This pen is also the kind that doesn’t leak. The last thing I need is ink all over my bag.
I carry a PENCIL with me to use for my checkbook register or balancing book thing-a-majiggy. I have become OCD with keeping my account balanced since the beginning of the year.
HAIR TIES: I carry 2 or 3 of them and still manage to lose them by the end of the week without fail. I’ve got to come up with a better way to keep them organized in my purse.
I love those new disposable TOOTHBRUSHES they now sell. It is great for on-the-go and especially for traveling. Who needs floss when you can have the real thing, complete with a pic infused with mint?
I have two kids, so having an ANTI-BACTERIAL HAND SANITIZER is almost a necessity. They love the Country Apple Scent too.
I can’t leave home without GUM either! You just never know when you’ll need it. Plus, I chew gum when I’m really full. For some reason, it makes me feel less full. Does it have that effect on anyone else?
I have three heads of hair to comb through on a daily basis. Well I probably have three heads of hair on my own head, but I was talking about my girls’ hair on top of my own. So yes, I carry a BRUSH and a COMB!
I don’t use it often, but in the summer months when my face is glimmering and oily, I need my MAC POWDER to tame the hot mess that is called my face!
I also need to carry my MAC GLOSS at all times. I am not a lipstick person, but my lips can’t live without gloss.
I always carry REWETTING DROPS and lose them endelssly just like my hair ties. I have never ever used them (no joke), but feel the need to re-buy them when I lose them in case of emergency.
One thing I don’t leave home without is my CAMERA. It is the one thing that is attached to me. If I left it at home, I’d likely come back just to get it! I use it daily for my PIcture A Day project, among other things. I am one who loves taking pictures of everything and I don’t care what people think about it!
Our truck is keyless, which is the greatest invention ever. There is never a need to rummage through my bag to find the KEY. So almost always, my keys are tucked away in whatever corner it decided to fall into in my bag.
I have a thing for keeping my lips in good condition, so I never leave home without a tube of VASELINE. I think Vaseline, or petroleum jelly, is one of the greatest things on Earth!
Nothing is nastier than dry and cracked feet or hands. I carry my little NIVEA CREAM just for that. YES! I do go and apply some to my feet when needed throughout the day.
Don’t ask, but I carry a CALCULATOR with me too. It’s one of those things that I prefer to have rather than using the cellphone version. It’s just not the same as using the real thing.
I don’t know how I ever lived without an iPHONE, but now I can’t be without it. I love changing up my covers too because I get easily bored with the same thing for too long. So my phone will always be around, but with a different case every other month or so.
I know this may sound weird, but I still use checks and I carry my CHECKBOOK around with me. I don’t use it too often, but there will be random times that the place only accepts cash or checks, like my kids’ school!
Well that’s all folks. It’s pretty simple and not very complicated. Some women can be really bad, but my purse is not messy at all. I will sometimes have my coupon rolodex in there if I know I will be using them. That has been rare occasions as of late. I feel like they have reduced the coupons that used to come with the Sunday paper. Damn coupon shows have scared them away! Anyway, that is all for now. Until next post!
